Henry Green's “Barcelona” is a haunting slab of smooth R&B
Building from some fairly hefty online support - it doesn’t get much bigger than the Kygo treatment right now - and slots with the likes of Woman's Hour at our Best Fit residency early in the year, Henry Green has revealed a new single-proper; a stunning, elegant outing that sets a serious marker for its EP to come.
Aligning himself with Aquilo and R I T U A L, the teenage Bristolian utilises simple reverberating production, lead by warm guitar lines and a wash of gentle synths, clicks and heart-beating bass kicks to create a recipe for heavenly smooth R&B.
And there’s more; Green is blessed with a gorgeous vocal tone that pours out effortlessly over this intricate backing: “If I could find a way?/If I could make myself stay?” he muses longingly with a deftness that both intrigues and unwinds.
Stream this gently haunting new one below, ahead of the release of his debut EP through the increasingly impressive Akira Records (Shura, Still Parade, Phoria) and take a trip to “Barcelona” with Henry Green
