Listen: Head of Sales - "Miss America (feat. Conner Youngblood)"
Best Fit favourite Conner Youngblood is no stranger to rabbit holes. His best work digs in and expands, as though he’s clawing his way toward some sense of understanding by way of uncoordinated orchestras and spacey chants. It should come as no surprise, then, that a simple email from anonymous Lithuanian producer Head of Sales was enough to send him down again.
The results are more fantastical than any adventure Alice had in Wonderland . Over a high-hat heavy beat and woozy, warped synths that rumble along as though chopped and screwed (then screwed again for good measure), Youngblood’s previously underutilized falsetto explodes like a hint of a color on a black and white page.
“Miss America” serves as an intriguing change of pace from one of our favourite vocalists (and multi-instrumentalists!), as well as an exciting debut from an anonymous producer. Listen below.
