Vocalist Fyfe was unmasked as former David’s Lyre man, Paul Dixon, shortly before the release of debut EP, Solace, earlier this year. The mystique surrounding his identity may have unraveled now but new single ‘Conversations’ suggests the Londoner still feels he has a point to prove.
Fyfe delves even further into his myriad influences this time around, wrapping his reedy tones around a hip-hop leaning backbeat of knobbly percussion and clipped guitar riffs. Sharp and poppy yet coloured by his tender, weary soul; ‘Conversations’ is Fyfe’s most comfortably well-rounded composition thus far.
‘Conversations’ is out 8 July.
