Listen: FTSE – St Tropez ft. ForteBowie
For as long as we can remember, the meeting ground of electro and RnB has been one of the most interesting territories in UK music, and 2013 has been no exception. So while you wait for The Weeknd to return to these shores this autumn, we recommend you spin some FTSE, as the Midlands producer will deftly handle any and all of your slow-burn needs.
After making waves with his Bipolar Sunshine ‘A Little Sumthin” remix and releasing the FTSE I EP this past June, the beatmaker teases his follow-up, the aptly named FTSE II, with the enticing ‘St Tropez’.
As the title would suggest, tropical vibes abound, albeit subtly, in the rolling beats and soothing vocals, provided courtsey of Altanta’s own ForteBowie. It’s the kind of song that makes the mind wander – maybe don’t listen while driving – and it’s a mighty fine consolation when St. Tropez itself is not a realistic option.
FTSE II is out 30 September on Lucky Number.
