After the slinky, Poliça like tones of “Haunt Me”, Copenhagen’s F U R N S are back with another elegant, alluring number in “Sparks”.
The work of Monika Faludi and Mathias Dahl Andreasen, “Sparks” is a beautiful, sparse 3 minutes 50 that allows free flowing bass grooves to intertwine with intermittent twinkling keys and smooth, hollow vocals for a decidedly funky flavour while their considered, minimal approach gives the down tempo beats room to breath – the sombre vocal sighs counteracting the carefree nature of the core melody.
If the Danish duo continue their rapid free download release schedule it looks like we could be in for another treat real soon, and that can only be a good thing.
