Emily & The Woods have taken a slight change in flight path with their new track “Helios”, and the result is wonderful.
The song has an ever-so-cool, smooth sound created by funky bass lines and shimmering guitar. Frontwoman Emily Wood ties the whole thing together with her soft vocal, which fits perfectly within the mysterious warmth of bass, drums and guitar.
Gentle electronic touches bring ever-increasing joy to the eardrums and, suddenly, January doesn’t look so dreary. And the even better news? New EP Then We Collide is out on 16 January.
