Listen: Eliot Sumner - "Information" (Trentmøller Remix) [Premiere]
Currently prepping for the release of a new EP, Eliot Sumner (formerly I Blame Coco) continues her stylistic shift towards the darker side of pop and appoints Danish producer Trentmøller to remix the highly impressive comeback single “Information”.
“Information is a break-up song,” Eliot explains. “It’s about not understanding the situation. With social networks these days, everyone needs to know everything, all the time. But the problem is, people are so used to short snippets of information that no one has any attention span any more. I don’t, anyway. It’s about a quest to know everything.”
The paranoia and uncertainty that comes with any break-up is replicated with even greater effect on this new remix. Trentmøller takes the kraut influences of the original and adds an even greater sense of impending doom to proceedings.
Eliot Sumner headlines London’s White Heat Club this evening (July 22) with just a handful of tickets still available. The Information EP is released on July 28.
