A surprise shift in style and pace emerges with the launch of Eliot Sumner and her sprawling debut single “Information”. Known to many as I Blame Coco, the former electro pop botherer returns with a bold new statement of intent that’s in equal parts monstrous, broody and utterly infectious.
Clocking in at just over seven minutes, “Information” is seething and unapologetic. Sumner’s vocal erupting at the chorus, her wrenching delivery of “I need to know you’re thinking of me” soaked in melodrama - and all the better for it.
Eliot Sumner makes her live debut under the new guise on Tuesday 22 July at London’s Madame Jojo’s. Tickets are on sale now.
