Listen: CILIA - "Clearly" [Premiere]
Swedish chanteuse CILIA is bounding into our lives with this stunning pop anthem, "Clearly".
It's a comprehensively uplifting cut, the kind that drags you from a down-in-the-dumps slump, or from your groggy hangover, or simply from bed in the morning.
She's worked with knob-twiddling warlocks Alx Go & Kim W (Tove Lo, Icona Pop and Erik Hassle), and crafts a kind of organic pop that veers between festival main stage and Disney ballad (that's not a bad thing) in it's all-encompassing power. If the word 'belter' is ever apt, it's here.
Inspired by the likes of Janis Joplin, Sia, Amy Winehouse and Duffy, "Clearly" is about that moment "when you realize that you are ready to finally break free from a bad relationship."
