Listen: Chelsea Lankes - "Too Young To Fall In Love (Mötley Crüe cover)"
L.A. newcomer Chelsea Lankes has covered Mötley Crüe's "Too Young To Fall In Love".
The hair-metal troupe, known for their dedicated obsession with the mantra 'drugs, sex, rock'n'roll', have been given a makeover.
No longer the mulletted, swaggering cock-rock of yore, Lankes reworks the lyrics and melodies into a big pop shape. It's now a kind of clubby cut with mighty, throbbing percussion and slick basslines; the chorus is as effortlessly cool as any dance anthem, and it's easy to imagine the track echoing across crowds of thousands at festivals across the world. Capped off by Daft Punkisms like vocoders and funky axes, Lankes has turned a lost classic into chart-poised belter.
Let Lankes kickstart your heart, and make you feelgood all night long.
Interestingly, the classic metallers have given a hearty thumbs up to the house-pop rendition.
