Listen: Cheatahs – Fall

Wichita-signed fourpiece Cheatahs have offered a window into their forthcoming debut LP with this delightfully dreamy new teaser track entitled ‘Fall’.

Nathan Hewitt’s treacly vocals vibrate parallel to the fuzzed up rhythm section; his gently extended syllables rolling off the tongue, infusing the grungy melody with a measure of sweet hazy melancholy. My Bloody Valentine comparisons are unavoidable, though it would be unfair to bundle Cheatahs in with some of their copyist contemporaries; the twinkling guitar solos and effervescent snare thumps ensure there’s bite as well as bark at play on ‘Fall’.
