Listen: Champions League – “Ebiza”
As the cold begins to set in and the frost lies heavy on the grass every morning, Parisian duo Champions League return with new track “Ebiza” - a welcome trip to some far-off tropical island.
Airy synths swirl among the strong Gallic lilt of the duo while the catchy drum fills, that could be taken from any beachfront busker in the Mediterranean, crop up to really transport you to some crowded Ibiza bar just as the sun goes down.
“Ebiza” is Champions League’s first real expression of their Balearic influences. Previous singles “Paris Is Our Playground” and “In Case You Need Reassurance” both had that piano-led house feel but the orchestral additions threw those more in with the likes of Air France. “Ebiza” feels as though they’ve just shaken off all those shackles, downed a couple of Long Island Ice Teas, and dived head-on into that Mediterranean vibe.
