A couple of weeks ago, Best Fit took part in Chairman Kato’s inaugural Focus Group. The event, held in the back room of a pub in Dalston, saw the London producer invite seven people to pick three tracks they love, and write a couple of lines explaining why. We then sat, drinks in hand, and listened to the selections – which ranged from Ben Frost to Sepultura, via Kelis.
I left the pub feeling a bit skew-whiff, and trying to remember the last time I sat for two hours, in near silence, doing nothing but listening to music. Kato has compiled the tracks into a continuous mix, to which you can listen below – but do keep an eye out for the second Focus Group. Entry is free, and much of the joy of the idea is in the all-too-unusual opportunity to listen communally.
