Having already teased us with bubbly electro-pop (‘Wolf’s Awake’) and stadium-bothering indie (‘Not Enough’) this month, LA duo Carousel have unveiled ‘Before You’, the third track to be taken from their forthcoming Palms EP.

‘I was better then, I was better before you’, sighs lead vocalist Jackson Phillips over a wispy synth motif and resonant programmed beats; it’s probably the lightest thing, sonically, that the Berklee-educated pair have put out. Although the dreaminess is weighted rather poignantly by the downtrodden lyrical touches. Cheer up Jackson, we love you just the way you are.
