Listen: C Duncan - "And I" [Premiere]
Recent Fatcat signee Christopher Duncan - C Duncan for short - has plonked a brand new slice of awesomeness onto the Internet. It's called "And I", and follows recent barnstormer "For".
Blending heartfelt doo-wop vocal lines with modern electro-folk leanings, Duncan mines a scarcely-trodden area of noise. It's effortlessly romantic, doused in reverb and hallowed emptiness; there's a slight chill in the vocals however. It's an ethereal, swooning beauty, and sounds like an old radio tuned to the golden oldies and then thrust underwater.
Duncan said of the track:
“And I' is the most stripped back song I have recorded. It is essentially a sombre love song clouded with unintelligible lyrics. It is very different to 'For' but I think the juxtaposition in vibe between the two songs makes them work well as a pair.”
