Bon Iver’s Blood Bank EP was quietly released in January 2009 following the incredible debut album from Wisconsin’s Justin Vernon. With the title track meant for the original debut, the remaining three tracks, including ‘Babys’ were written specifically for the EP. With a piano key introduction that has always sounded eerily familiar to me, the original track is awash with warmth and the hushed reverence of Vernon’s vocals.
To remix something that is so stunning in it’s original conception is a challenge to say the least, but nevertheless it is one that has been taken on by Moths. The project of County Kildare native Jack Colleran, Moths remix has transformed the already blissful song into a beautifully unique and perfectly minimalist piece of sprawling ambience. Have a listen below and hopefully you’ll soon be thinking Fall Creek what?
