True Panther Sounds signees Black Orange Juice make muscular soul music, fostered by a lifetime of performing and obsessing over music together.
Informed by their dads’ record collections – Chic and Marvin Gaye were among their favourites – childhood friends producer, Ossie, and vocalists Paul Black and Tilz are releasing their debut EP 3 Started Alone on 23 September. The sweetly fragranced twin vox, harmonies of, ‘I know that we’ll make it’, splashed over a silky house beat on lead track, ‘Alone’ suggests Black Orange Juice are set to capitalize on the resurgence of classic 90s and early 00s production styles. With their pedigree, we’d expect nothing less.
