Listen: Bambooman – Hollowed [Best Fit Premiere]
London’s Sonic Router Records debut their latest (and our favourite) release thus far, producer Bambooman’s Hollowed EP.
Like a Neptunes beat swallowed whole by some dreamed up Star Trek Deep Space Nine inspired futuristic funk, newcomer, Bambooman creates an entire microcosm out of his sounds. Looped bits of chopped up soul drip through the creaks and crackles of that noisy, whistling vent you’ve been meaning to fix, while thick floaty synth melts into off kilter beats scattered with blips of found sounds. These elements marry so incredulously with the Leeds producer’s conscientious use of digitized effects, that you can’t help but press “play” a few more times.
Sexy hip hop and R&B sounds that rattle and creep into the dark crevices of your psyche, Bambooman’s seven tracks promise to haunt long after the music has stopped.
Bambooman’s Hollowed 7″ EP is out April 29th via Sonic Router.
