Listen: Bad//Dreems - "Cuffed and Collared" [Premiere]

"Cuffed And Collared" is the thinking man's soundtrack to a barroom brawl, a brilliant mix of aggressive guitars that sound like Parquet Courts ripping the "Friends" theme and raspy shout-along vocals. Those elements make excellent bedfellows, building to a fist pumping chorus that might just be the best pure rock and roll moment of 2015 so far. This is pub music with a purpose á la The Hold Steady; pull up a stool and grab a pint.

The boys say:

"This new track is called 'Cuffed & Collared’. It's about having to wake up in the morning at a time much earlier than you'd choose, put on a shirt and go to work. Have you given into the man, or are you just giving him a bit of ground to keep the dream alive? We recorded it pretty much live with some guitar and vocal overdubs... apparently Cuffed & Collared also has S&M connotations, which we weren't aware of. But that's fine by us.

"We are pretty excited to make our first trip to the UK in May. Growing up in Australia there is obviously a cultural connection. Plus it's the birthplace of so many of our favourite bands, from Joy Division and The Smiths to Motörhead and the Stones. It's gonna be summer too so we look forward to sunning our pasty bodies with gay abandon with all the mad dogs and Englishmen. We are playing at Handmade Festival, Live At Leeds Festival, and The Great Escape as well as some shows with USA band Francisco the Man."
