Listen: Astral Pattern – Sitting In The Sun
From the ashes of sullen London outfit S.C.U.M emerge indie-pop dreamers Astral Pattern.
Not quite as rhythmically frantic than their contemporaries TOY – although the trio do cite godfathers of kraut, Kraftwerk as an influence – Astral Pattern weave their core aesthetic around vintage keyboard spirals and Melissa Rigby’s intoxicatingly velvety tones rather than motorik guitars. Percussion is kept light and airy too, so not to disturb anyone drifting away into blissful catatonia with their shimmery shoegazey melodies.
Turn this up, step outside and bask in the rays. ’Sitting In The Sun’ is available for download from today. Their debut EP, Light Poems is slated for release on 1 July through 37 Adventures.
