Listen: Applebottom – All Night / Turn On The Faith
Combining deep house grooves with throwback R&B and house sentiments, along with a love of Diddy and Whitney Houston are 17-year old superstar producer-in-the-making, Joe Arthur, aka Applebottom’s weapons of choice on his killer forthcoming release.
Repping deep house legend, Kerri Chandler’s new label MadTech Records, Applebottom creates sample-spiked bass experiences, drawing listeners in with a pulsating tempo, dollops of chunky, distorted bass, pumping percussion and chopped up vocal fragments that get reworked back into the track as if they were meant to be there all along.
We know what you’re thinking, another new house producer, but what’s so special about Applebottom is his ability to create this fluidity. The amount of ease in which the young producer is able to blend so many styles that continue to unfold as the track develops is truly a testament to his talent. Arthur turns rippling keyboard effects, sharp spikes of percussion and techno tweeks into a cohesive dancefloor banger before you realize it. We look forward to hearing a lot more from this promising young artist in the coming months.
Applebottom’s ‘All Nite/Turn On The Faith’ is available for download January 25th.
