Andrew Cedermark adds a heavy droning intensity to a Bill Withers classic on new track ‘On Me’ taken from his new album Home Life.
The ex Titus Andronicus man will release his second solo LP on 16 July through Underwater Peoples with this single a potential standout point.
The shift from the ever so recognisable original melody is most probably necessary step. A general crunching reverb runs throughout while Cedermark’s fragile, crackling vocals adds a haunting, intimate quality.
Then it all dissolves into rattling cacophony of noise, taking the song into a direction not many would have envisioned. Stream below.
