LIFE are well on their way to making a name for themselves as one of the country’s most exciting new acts. Cue their latest single, “Money”, a stellar song that’s certain to leave you satisfied.
Channeling The Strokes through a Skaters-esque veneer, LIFE place themselves within a category of bands that have become known as ‘skate punk’. Short-but-sweet explosive songs, catchy choruses, and sprawling guitar riffs are all to be expected.
What makes LIFE stand out from their contemporaries is their youthful vigour. There’s an energy and an enjoyment here that seems too honest to be forced, and proves all to easy to fall for.
“Money” boasts a dynamic bassline and a driving drumbeat you can hardly resist dancing to. Mez Sanders-Green’s vocals switch between a smooth croon and a boisterous quirk, sweet-talking you along bounding rhythms and resounding riffs into a state of contented appreciation. No complaints here.
“Money/Crawling” will be released as a double a-side via Birthday Records on 17 March.
