Manchester, the UK’s most innovative hot-bed of musical promise in recent years, just keeps on producing. Next off this most organic of production lines is Letters To Fiesta.
Exactly who they are, we’re not sure, but lead vocalist Anna Etherington sounds like all three of Stealing Sheep wrapped up in one neat Kate Bush-shaped package on new tune, ‘Tears Apart’. Drawn from their as-yet-untitled EP, it’s something of a wispy hybrid of Tegan And Sara’s bubbly pop and Yeasayer’s triumphant hook-studded indie with Etherington’s emphatic caw plastered atop frantic beats and yawning guitars. Seriously impressive stuff.
