Leeds singer-songwriter Leo Cosmos releases feel-good debut “Take My Chances”
Few artists come through with a debut track as slick and well-rounded as “Take My Chances” - the first offering from Leeds-based singer-songwriter and producer Leo Cosmos.
“When I was producing this track I was hoping the listener would achieve the same amount of happiness I do when I hear a timeless pop song,” says Leo Cosmos. “The song serves as a simple reminder to choose love and happiness over fear and hate.”
And it’s fair to say Cosmos has achieved what he set out to do. “Take My Chances” is a classic 70s-inspired feel-good gem that's full of soul and custom built for easy summertime listening.
You can hear his love of timeless pop coursing through his first release, from its funk-infused bassline to its warm synth keys and soaring disco strings. The whole track has a playful Rex Orange County vibe, especially the smooth, laid back vocal performance from Cosmos and guest vocalist/violinist JED.
On his debut track, Leo Cosmos has created a piece of pop magic, and “Take My Chances” is merely the start for this promising new artist. Expect to hear his music filling a dance floor near you very soon.
