Gotts Street Park have produced some of our favourite artists - everyone from Mabel and Cosima to Kali Uchis and Rejjie Snow - but their first track flexing their songwriting muscles is a collab with rising London rapper Benny Mails.
"Your World" - which recalls GZA and DJ Shadow but somehow doesn't sound anything like either - is mesmerisingly affecting and finds a balance in Mails' flow that will win the rapper more fans.
The collective cut their teeth playing live in Leeds and are inspired by recording philosophy and rawness of early soul cuts. They write, perform and record all of their material live in one room, so we're told, in keeping with Leeds' DIY ethic.
"This World" is out now via Blue Flowers Music.
