Le Module creates irresistible warped pop on “Lovers in Twos”
London-based but Yorkshire-raised Le Module (aka Joe Robbins) infuses blissful indie with an infectious 80s groove on “Lovers in Twos”.
Originally one half of dance duo Pavan, Robbins' Le Module project allows him to take full artistic control. “Lovers in Twos” is a thoughtful release from the multi-instrumentalist, infused with careful, pointed production and flickering piano melodies. His matured vocals are wistfully elegant, rumbling with 80s inspired rhythms and delicate electronica to accompany late night drives.
“Sometimes the girl you want is on the other side of the girl you’re with, quite literally. But this song isn’t a story of betrayal, rather a story of distraction,” Robbins explains.
The steady groove aches with sorrow and desire, the solitary brass accompaniment closing the track with a mournful procession as he waits patiently for his lover's return.
