Lawrence Rothman reveals new "H" video by Bowie director Floria Sigismondi
Lawrence Rothman morphs into yet another Alter (John Bull) on "H", his shadowy jazz-age lament.
"H" follows the tender anxiety of "California Paranoia (ft. Angel Olsen)", "Oz Vs. Eden (ft. Charli XCX)"'s swaggering rock, and the sweeping psych-Americana of "Users".
As is becoming tradition with Rothman, he is once again totally unrecognisable (what does he actually look like?) and is diving into a brand new style with total aplomb.
The ambitious, vivid vid is helmed by Floria Sigismondi (David Bowie, Bjork, The Cure) and features experimental L.A. dance troup WIFE. The track features Jim Keltner (John Lennon, George Harrison) on drums, Roger Manning Jr. (Beck) on keys, Pino Palladino (Adele, Elton John) on bass, and Carla Azar (Autolux).
Rothman's debut album is an "ambitious" album recorded with Justin Raisen (Charli XCX, Sky Ferreria, Ariel Pink), and will feature guests such as Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth), Ariel Pink, Angel Olsen, and Charli XCX.
