Lawrence Rothman airs post-folk vignette "California Paranoia", featuring Angel Olsen
Ambitious experimentalist Lawrence Rothman has unveiled his new single "California Paranoia", featuring the dulcet tones of Angel Olsen.
The track is a bold, retro-futuristic escapade through dusty '60s Americana and spaced-out synthpop. Rothman and Olsen are the architects of a haunting duet, tearing apart the sinewy carcass of their own psyches.
Rothman is currently working in the studio with Justin Raisen (Charli XCX, Sky Ferreria, Ariel Pink) working on a record that will feature, alongside Olsen, Kim Gordon, Ariel Pink, and Charli XCX. The record is expected in 2016 via Downtown.
Visuals for "California Paranoia" are set to arrive in the near future from Floria Sigismondi. Rothman's expected to "reveal more of the characters that he embodies... who he refers to as his 'alters'" as this current project unravels in the coming months.
