Listen: Laurel - "Shells" [Premiere]
Laurel unveils a dreamy concoction of subtle electronics and orchestral yearns on the third track from her To The Hills EP, premiering today on Best Fit.
She said: “I wrote shells at seventeen on my acoustic guitar, I had been working with my friend Simon (shadow child) on tracks and we decided to put my little folk song on one of his tracks. It was actually my mums idea to blend the two songs together. I wrote it at a time when I had just broken up with a boyfriend and he had found someone else to love. This song means a lot to me as it reminds me of a time in my life when I had just moved to London on my own and everything around me was changing.”
To The Hills EP is available now.
