KWAYE unveils sensual, stripped-back R&B number "Jasmine"
British-Zimbabwean R&B conjurer KWAYE has shared new single "Jasmine" and its highly charged accompanying visuals.
Slow, quivering guitars bob along above shuffling percussion and off-kilter basslines, with KWAYE's elastic vocal line whipping from all-out belt to hushed whisper seemingly on a whim. The uncharacteristically pared-down offering hinges on the power of KWAYE's voice - which, fortunately, is pretty damn powerful.
The track follows "Lost In My Boots" and summer EP Solar (which features "Little Ones", "Cool Kids", and "Sweetest Life").
