The distorted, disorientating synth fizz is at odds with tight string samples, yet the two intertwine to create a balanced backdrop for the track's message. "I wrote 'High Ladder' when chasing the dream was like chasing moonlight," Kiyomi explains. "It was a time of many closed doors and this song started to open them."
