Listen: Kins - "Mockasin's"/"Society"/"SBIB"
Brighton-via-Melbourne outfit Kins released their self-titled debut album last year, and are back with two brand new b-sides that accompany a free download of album single, “Mockasin’s”. These treats are here to coincide with the band’s current tour, including support for Phantogram across the UK and Europe.
“Mockasin’s” is a restless, shifty cut, with Thomas Savage’s voice recalling elements of vocalists across the spectrum from Harry Koisser (Peace) to Keaton Henson, and remain’s the standout part of last year’s self-titled LP. The two new b-side tracks, “Society” and “SBIB”, however, unearth a beautifully mellow quality to Kins that “Mockasin’s” never hinted at. They complement the existing single wonderfully, with “Society” acting as an interlude of sorts to a makeshift three-track offering, before the six-minute “SBIB” crawls its way through ambience, electronica and piano-based delicacy.
Kins are currently on tour, including support slots with Phantogram. Their debut album is available to buy now.
