Kidsmoke breeze into Spring with the sunshine indie-pop of “And Mine Alone”
We’re forever being told that guitar music is dying, but Kidsmoke clearly haven’t got the memo.
On new single “And Mine Alone”, the Welsh four-piece deliver jangly melodies and vocals infused with sunshine. The lyric “I could sail around the world, but I just stay at home” recurs throughout the track, a nod to the slacker-pop tradition in which Kidsmoke’s sound seems to have put down roots. Much like its forebears, it’s indie-pop that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and more’s the better for it.
With a release that makes you want to wind down your windows (or use the little button these days, I suppose) and let the breeze and sunshine in, Kidsmoke continue to make a name for themselves as purveyors of uplifting indie.
