Watch: KHUSHI – “Phantoms” (Sofar Sounds session) [Premiere]
A few short weeks back, we at Best Fit featured KHUSHI’s “Phantoms”, the title track off the London singer-songwriter’s upcoming debut EP. Today, we are pleased to premiere KHUSHI’s live performance of this tune as part of Sofar Sounds’ wonderful living room concert series and the launch of their new “alt” channel over on YouTube.
-In our original track feature post, Kenza Marland noted “Phantoms”‘ “jazzy, smooth, and ethereal” qualities and “layers of instrumental sound”. Here, we are treated to the boon of Sofar’s stripped-down and intimate environment as the unfettered, kinetic energy of KHUSHI’s performance leaps off the screen. You can virtually feel the steel wires of his guitar strings as his fingers slide across its neck; the drumsticks on felt seem as if they are in your very room right next to you.
KHUSHI opens for London Grammar at the Brighton Dome this weekend, 23 February, and you can see him heading his own show 6 March at Electrowerkz, London.
