Indie-pop maestro Joseph of Mercury debuts the slickly addictive "Find You Inside"
Following hot on the heels of previous single "Without Words", "Find You Inside" is an audible shift for the Toronto native.
Between its anthemic chorus, buoyant guitar riffs and 80s aroma, there is an unavoidably bittersweet undercurrent. "I think it’s just easier to believe in," Joseph explains of the track’s atmosphere. "It’s easier for someone to hear it and think 'Wow, this is honest; this is someone sincerely communicating with me.'"
Sincerity is a factor that persists anecdotally throughout the new track. "Want to know why you’re always running out of the party just as we arrive," Joseph croons mournfully as the song pauses to breathe, going on to internally query his own motives as his love continues her pursuits regardless.
"[This romance] inspires so much of my work; it also keeps me from ever truly being with anyone else," says Joseph. "It’s something I never want to give up, to be held hostage by such a beautiful feeling."
