Jordan Mackampa releases the soul-soaked “Open Arms”
Jordan Mackampa has followed-up his attention-grabbing “Same Faces” with another soul-soaked outing that proves his increasingly impressive potential.
Originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the now Coventry-based singer-songwriter lays his unique gospel vocal atop atmospheric, echoing acoustic guitar, ticking percussion and colourful crashing cymbal splashes to create this new folk-inspired outing.
The timing feels good too for Mackampa, as Michael Kiwanuka’s Mercury nominated LP continues to win praise and the demand for this timeless brand of jazz-tinged music remains. It's no surprise really that the young newcomer sites inspiration from the likes of BB King.
Somehow as delicate as it is powerful and inspiring, the world waits with “Open Arms” for Jordan Mackampa.
