Joel Rampage (Postiljonen) unveils a dark take on the Balearic sound with debut single "Bleed"
Joel Nostrum Holm is better known as one part of Swedish pop geniuses Postiljonen, but he's casting aside any dreaminess on his debut single as Joel Rampage.
Having used his Joel Rampage moniker to oversee the wonderful "chopped and screwed" remixes of close friends jj, "Bleed" is a dark and inviting piece of work which sits nicely alongside the work of his fellow enigmatic Swedes.
While the vocals of Postiljonen's Mia Bøe provide some sort of lightness to the track, there's some twisted, high-pitched synth noise cutting through any thoughts of prettiness, and Rampage adds some trap beats and off-kilter rhythms to make sure things stay intensely black in tone.
This is the first of a few tracks expected from Joel Rampage over the coming months and into 2017, and it's an extremely promising start.
