Only love can hurt like Jimi Charles Moody's intimate new cut "Only You"
The heart-wrenching "Only You" is the first new material from Jimi Charles Moody in over a year.
Jimi Charles Moody is the alter-ego of Rizzle Kicks' Harley Sylvester. Launched in the shadows of anonymity, Moody's debut EP Islington is a soulful, bluesy journey depicting heartbreak on "Blue Honey", scorn on "Other Man", unrequited love on "The Woman" and self-destruction on "Death Row". Follow up singles "House Of Moody" and "Turn To Gold" offered tounge-in-cheek charm while retaining the artistic integrity.
"I originally wrote "Only You" as a song for someone else, but the moment I finished it I knew it was too personal to give away," Sylvester explains. It's the simplicity of "Only You" which brings out the rawness and edge which encapsulates the entirety of the Jimi Charles Moody project.
Stripping things back to basics his vocals and intensely honest songwriting shine the brightest and will undoubtedly share Moody's message: "I hope the 'You' in question hears this, so they know how much they did and still do mean to me."
