At long last, Birmingham four-piece JAWS have announced the release of their self-titled debut album. Title track, “Be Slowly”, has done everything to stir up the hype.
Infectious from the get-go, “Be Slowly” showcases just how much JAWS are a force to be reckoned with. Chiming guitars, familiarly blissed-out vocals and surging drum beats craft a sound that has already cast many under the band’s spell.
Hand-clap rhythms and 80s pop-esque riffs give the track an instant summertime feel; the perfect backdrop to a hazy lament of feeling good for no particular reason. Energetic and upbeat, “Be Slowly” is the sound of a band with a new lease of life.
“Be Slowly” is set for release on 7 July. JAWS’ debut album will follow on 15 September.
