Jaunt's new track "Faster Interactions" is equal parts bonkers and fun
With "Faster Interactions" the Toronto-based band experiment with a jumble of complex ideas that somehow all come together in perfect, chaotic harmony.
Hop-scotching through different time signatures, moods and melodies, "Faster Interactions" is no simple walk in the park. As soon as you think you know where Jaunt are heading, they pull the rug from under your feet and bounce in another direction.
It's a track that is full of tirelessly joyful energy and is an obvious comment on our addiction to social media and technology with the video delving into themes such as obsession, anxiety, and relief. It's all a bit zany, but is all the more fun for it.
Explaining the evolution of the track, guitarist Pat O'Brien says: "This is probably our zaniest track to date!... Caitlin and Eliza really helped bring a new energy and dynamic to the whole thing, and I think the song ultimately sounds more ‘joyous’ because of it. We’re also really trying to bring back the sound of cheap keyboard orchestra hits in pop music again"
"Faster Interactions" is taken from the band's upcoming EP entitled Cue that is due to be released on 13 April.
