Jade Bird unveils impressive debut EP Something American
Teenage troubadour Jade Bird has unveiled her debut EP Something American, a vibrant collection of folk and country-tinged songs.
The singer/songwriter, who was raised to military parents that travelled to Wales, Germany, and England (and more), cites "strong working women" as a constant in her perpetual-motion upbringing.
This short-player is a blinding mix of swaggering Americana, tender acoustic moments, and impressive demonstrations of technical proficiency - this may just be the first step for Bird, but it's a big one.
Something American was recorded in Rhinebeck and Palenville, New York State. Simone Felice (Bat For Lashes) produced, with Will Rees (Mystery Jets), Bob Dylan guitarist Larry Campbell, and Matt Johnson (who drummed on Jeff Buckley's Grace) contributing.
