IDER pull us back from the lowest of ebbs on moving new track "Million"
We're running out of superlatives with every passing track from IDER. "Million" will once again test the vocabulary....what's another word for beauitful?
Megan Markwick and Lily Somerville round off 2016 - which has seen the pair stun us with the trio of singles "Sorry", "Pulse" and "King Ruby" - with their most moving offering yet.
A song about believing you've found something special at the point just when you've reached your nadir, "Million" is a dark journey through weakness, blind faith and misplaced conviction in the power of love. It's powerful stuff, with emotive couplets jumping out in a stirring chorus - "Love will find you in a million parts / Coming up at the hotel bar" and "Cigarette dropped from the top window / I don't care it's the best I know" are just two starkly gorgeous and fragile moments out of many. Beginning and ending on the bathroom floor, "Million" is sad symmetry and IDER's best yet.
