The perfect accompaniment to the woozy, lethargic sway of the original cut – Tom Rowlands of The Chemical Brothers (who remixes under the RAR moniker) transforms I Break Horses‘ ‘Hearts’ into a hard hitting smorgasbord of galloping drums and gut wrenching klaxon-style synths. Playing down the fuzz of the original reveals a clearer vocal, the lyrics working flawlessly with the clattering drums: “Strike out to collide / Hit nothing but empty parts”.
Stream / download the remix below, but don’t forget to check out the brand new video by Alex Southam that accompanies the Rowlands rework beautifully.
