Hudson Scott maintains momentum with the euphoric “Gone”
Hudson Scott isn’t waiting around. The past few months have seen him put out quickfire statements of intent, turning heads with the equally infectious “Clay” and “Whale”.
Now the newcomer, who started out backing-up fellow-Oxford talents Foals and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, has unveiled the third and final track from his Clay EP, released 22 April, and it’s another gem.
Continuing on his disco-inspired blend of funky alt-pop, “Gone” is the most dancing, pacey moment of the extended player, as his characteristic vocal pours out above the twitching, warbling production, that recalls Jungle in it’s restless, smile-inducing power.
With a run of live dates in the pipeline, including sets at Dot To Dot and a headline London show at The Waiting Room on 31 May, Scott is set to make 2016 his own; he’ll not be “Gone” any time soon.
