Her’s soak up the sun with tropical track “Marcel”
As the autumnal days begin to roll in, Liverpudlian duo Her’s decide to soak up the sun with what little warmth is left.
“Marcel” is the latest hazy offering from Her’s, and while familiar jangle pop is still present, the Liverpool duo entwine Hawaiian-inspired instrumentals, creating a chill wave track that will take you right to paradise island.
Originally meant to be named “David Seaman”, “Marcel” came to be thanks to a curious lucky dip into a basket of wallets, resulting in Her’s stumbling across a wallet belonging to an unknown Marcel.
Fusing hazy summer sounds and tropical teasers, Her’s certainly wipe away the British annotations connected, and instead use inviting harmonies and a slacker guitar melody to embrace the tropical dream that seems half a world away.
“Marcel” is undoubtedly romantic, and will make you fall in love with Her’s sound, which is a refreshing cocktail of British indie, tropical beach wave, and sumptuous slacker rock.
