Her's warm up for new album with the utterly joyous "Love On The Line (Call Now)"
Indie-pop darlings Her's have returned with a seriously fun new number which acts like a little ray of sunshine in a world that takes itself too seriously.
The duo, comprised of university pals Audun Laading and Stephen Fitzpatrick, have already worked up a reputation as key players in the Liverpool scene, known for their laid back surfy psych rock, but their new track "Love On The Line (Call Now)" moves them in a markedly lighter direction and may even surprise those that have followed them for a while.
The track demonstrates their tireless exploration of new genres and techniques and shows how they continue to experiment with their sound. The delivery is reminiscent of early music from The Strokes: it's effortlessly cool, where the words are playfully uttered into crooked microphones. Yet, it is lightened by the bright guitar riffs that trickle over the vocal melodies. It's a super fun love song made for warm spring evenings, where they joyously depict the happiness of youthful infatuation.
It's the first track to come from the duo's upcoming album which is due to be released later this summer.
