Haunted Mansions reveal their brilliant psych-hop debut single "Sunshine Crawlers"
Norwegian duo Haunted Mansions might be based in the currently-frozen north of Trondheim, but their debut track is firmly fixed on Californian sunshine.
Made up of the little-and-large Thomas Gregussen (beats, guitar, bass, keys) and Vegard Sando (vocals, guitar), "Sunshine Crawlers" is a charming melding of genres and a real statement of what to expect from Haunted Mansions.
Combining psychedelic indie pop with hip hop beats in a style which recalls Broken Bells, this debut rolls along on languid beats and twanging slo-mo surf guitar...and a positively horizontal-sounding vocal from singer Sando. No clue what a "sunshine crawler" is, but it sounds like someone who might be out to harsh Haunted Mansions' mellow.
