Hannah Jane Lewis returns with ace new single "Raincheck"
Bright and bold, Hannah Jane Lewis shares her pop vision with banging new single "Raincheck".
We fell head over heels for the London-based singer/songwriter's debut "Why Start A War" last year and follow-up "Bend Or Break" and "Hide And Go Seek" singles weren't half-bad either.
"Raincheck" by definition is a ticket given for later use when a sporting fixture or other outdoor event is interrupted or postponed by rain, an Americanism if there ever was one harking back to Lewis' time growing up in the US, where she embraced college life as a cheerleader and, quite rightly, became prom queen.
Lewis explains the track "is about giving someone just enough to keep them interested, but never too much where they know what is coming next. It's the initial stages of a relationship when you keep your cards close to your chest, before you are both brave enough to let your guard down." Much like the weather, unpredictability often prevails in such situations.
Having moved from Surrey to the warmer climes of Florida at 14, it's here that Lewis claims to have found her inner pop star having fallen in love with heavyweights live Britney, Christina and Gwen Stefani. With a big pop sound to her own name, the influence of these stars is unmistakable and Lewis' music is all the better for it.
Packed with potential, an impressive vocal display and bags of confidence, "Raincheck" features something even more important, audible glitter.
