London-based quartet H. Grimace are sharing "Royal Hush" to celebrate their signing to Opposite Number.
"Royal Hush" begins like a pared-back Warpaint number - it's all slinky bass and crunchy percussion, with gauzy vocals draped over the top. As the song unfolds H. Grimace are anything but hush, with layers upon layers upon layers of engorged guitars and earthy tones congealing into a leviathan wall of noise. It's subtly psychedelic but overtly hypnotic.
The new single follows their sold-out 2015 tape I Am Material. It's been recorded with Rory Attwell.
H. Grimace are playing London's The Lexington on Thursday, 13 October. Find out more.
The "Royal Hush" 7" is released 28 October via Opposite Number.
